Dragon Hall Beer Festival (25th-27th April 2014) - 드래곤 홀 맥주 축제

어제는 여기 노리치에서 개최된 드래곤 홀이라는 연회장에서 개최된 맥주 축제에 갔어. 노리치에서 일년에 8~10개 정도의 크고작은 맥주 축제가 열린데. 그중에서도 10월에 개최되는 에일 축제가 가장 크고 줄을 한두시간 정도 서야 들어 갈수있을 정도라고 하네. 이번 맥주 축제는 그나마 소규모 라고 해. 이번에는 팻캣리라는 노리치 소재의 양조장에서 스폰서를 해서 개최가 되었어. 독립 양조자들이 만듵 에일들이 소개 되고 참석한 손님들이 점수를 메길 수도 있는 자리야. 대기업들이 아닌 중소기업들을 장려해 주는 자리라서 한 층 더 뜻깊은 것 같아.

 

We went to a beer festival held at Dragon Hall in Norwich from the 25th~27th April. It seems that there are about 8~10 beer/ale festivals of various scale held in Norwich each year. Dragon Hall beer festival was sponsored by Fat Cat Brewery in Norwich. The brewers attending this event are mostly Norwich based and independent. It is good to see the community support independent breweries. The visitors pay a small amount of money to get in.

오후 5시~7시까지 노리치와 맨유 축구 경기가 있어서 그거 보고 4대 0이라는 대패의 쓴맛을 뒤로하고

드래곤 홀로 향했어. 도착해서 보니 줄이 길게 바깥으로 나와있는거야. 이번 행사가 인기가 많아서 줄을 서고 있고 들어갈수 있는 사람의 수가 법적으로 한정이 되어 있고 이미 내부가 꽉 차서 우리는 줄에서 기다려야 했어. 45분 정도 기다려서야 들어 갈수 있게 되었어.

There was a football match between Norwich FC and Manchester United from 5pm to 7pm so we watched it at home - to be precise, the men in this house watched it and saw Norwich FC beaten 4-0 by Manchester United. Poor Norwich FC! There are in a big trouble. Anyway, after the match we walked to Dragon Hall and found a queue out the entrance and it was cold! There is a regulation as to the number of people who can enter the hall so it was 'one-out and one-in'. I think we waited for 45 mins till we were finally allowed to come into the warmth.

 

 

 

입구에서 돈을 내면 큰 맥주잔에 노란색 쿠폰을 넣어서 줘. 맥주잔은 내가 가져도 되고 쿠폰이 돈 역할을 하게되서 그걸루 맥주를 사면되. 처음으로 내 맥주잔이 생겨서 기뻤어!

Each of us are given a big pint glass with some yellow coupons in it and we get to keep the cup and buy beers with the coupons. (Later on we found out that they were out of those pint glasses and a lot of people did not receive any.) I am very pleased with my first pint glass from a beer festival!

 

맥주잔을 가지고 가서 사진 뒤에 있는 맥주를 조금씩 시음 해 보고 마시고 싶은걸 샀어. 내가 고른건 이 노퍽주에서 만들어진 노퍽 키위라는 에일과 쿠거(스폰서인 팻캣에서 양조됨), 그리고 사이다야. 알코올이 들어있는 사이다인데 마셔봐야 진가를 알수  있어. 사진과 말로 묘사하기 힘든게 아쉽네. 사람들로 북적거리는거 보이지?

Happy me with my pint glass! I tried Norfolk Kiwi which is very easy drinking bitter. I also tried Cougar(brewed by Fat Cat) and half a pint of lovely cider. You see how crowded it is inside?

 

 

 

배가 고파서 아래층에 내려가서 요기거리를 찾았어. 나는 핫도그를 먹었어. 간단하지만 정말 맛있더라구. 아래 사진이 스낵바 인데 사람들이 많아서 사진 잘 찍기가 힘들었어.

We were hungry by this time so we went downstairs to find some food. I had a lovely hotdog with a really good sausage. I am normally not a big fan of sausages but this one was good. Simple but very impressive! Below is a picture of the snack bar but it was hard to get a good snapshot as it was too crowded and I was not patient to wait.

혼자 사진도 찍고 서빙하는 할아버지랑도 사진 찍고 즐거운 시간 보냈어.
